With the plate molecular evaporator we have successfully developed a new and innovative method for combining the advantages of the plate falling film evaporator and the short-path distillation in one unit, on a rotational basis. With the plate molecular evaporator we have successfully developed a new and innovative method for combining the advantages of the plate falling film evaporator and the short-path distillation in one unit, on a rotational basis. It allows to process temperature-sensitive materials in a gentle way with a high throughput.

The plate molecular evaporator contains heated and cooled panels. The particular mixture is fed through a distribution system on to the heated plate and flows down as a thin film. The volatile components evaporate and are condensed directly on the cooled panel. This allows pressure to be reduced during distillation to less than 1 mbar, down to high vacuum.

Applications – Plate Molecular Evaporators are used for gentle distillation of low viscosity products at low pressures (<0.1 mbar).
