Glycerol recovery
A typical process for a vertical Thin Film Dryer
Glycerol as a mixture of salts and organics is fed into a vertical thin film dryer. The operating pressure typically ranges from 1 to 10 mbar and the heating temperature is between 190°C and 220 °C, depending on the heating medium. The glycerol evaporates in the thin film dryer and usually a mixture of various paste-like or free flowing inorganic salts remains as a solid. A Glycerol residual content well below 5% is achieved.
