GIG Karasek already has developed several wiper systems allowing to dramatically increase the performance of distillation processes. The proprietary wiper technology is used especially for
- Continuous distribution of feed on the evaporator surface
- Improved heat transfer to the product film

The Springfilm wiper design is mainly used for high viscosity or temperature sensitive products as it allows to increase or decrease residence time. This makes it also possible to control the residence time by selecting suitable wipers. The SPRINGFILM Rotor Technology achieves high turbulence in the film because it is circulated on a surface, and not on an edge. The contact pressure is also adjustable by spring loading and the wipers can be replaced easily during maintenance or conversion of the product process.
For instance, silicone oil is distillated at 100,000 mPas (20 °C), and 15,000 mPas (140 °C). With a SPRINGFILM you can increase performance up to 500,000 mPas (at 20 °C). This wiper design is also well suited for very low residual concentrations (<1% low boilers).
